Job Overview:
As a Data Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and efficient data models that support our supply chain planning solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to ensure that data architecture supports the diverse needs of our software. Your primary focus will be on the back-end systems that handle large-scale, complex data, including inventory, demand planning, procurement, and logistics.
This role requires deep expertise in data modeling, a strong understanding of complex SaaS models, and the ability to build systems that deliver actionable insights to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Modeling and Architecture: Design and implement advanced, scalable, and efficient back-end data models that support complex supply chain planning operations such as inventory management, demand forecasting, and procurement.
- Data Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of internal and external data sources, ensuring data consistency, quality, and availability for analytics, reporting, and operational systems.
- Optimization: Optimize and streamline existing data models to improve performance, scalability, and reliability, ensuring they meet the high demands of our SaaS applications.
- Data Governance and Quality: Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, ensuring data integrity, security, and privacy standards are met. Implement data validation and monitoring processes to maintain high-quality data across the system.
- Collaboration with Data Engineers: Work closely with data engineering teams to implement and maintain backend systems that support large-scale data processing, real-time data access, and analytics.
- Solution Design: Lead the design of end-to-end data architectures, including ETL (extract, transform, load) processes, storage solutions, and data pipelines, ensuring that systems are aligned with business objectives and scalable for future growth.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data architecture and supply chain management, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
Desired experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect or similar role with advanced proficiency in backend systems, data modeling, schema design, and optimization for large-scale systems.
- Experience with designing and implementing cloud native architectures, including microservices, containerization.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Expertise in designing and building ETL pipelines, integrating data from various sources, and ensuring data quality.
- Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or other big data frameworks is a plus.
- Familiarity with supply chain management software and platforms or complex SaaS platforms.
- Experience with data warehousing and data lake architectures.
- Problem-Solving & Innovation: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate and think creatively to design data solutions that meet the needs of complex supply chain systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
